Cebu R Hotel sets itself apart from the handful of affordable accommodation in uptown Cebu, by offering larger-than-usual rooms, top-notch service and better hotel amenities. All these can also be had at rates that are reasonable and even better than most in its category.
I am saying this not because they bumped my best budd and I into a Deluxe Room when what we initially reserved was just the Standard. At that time, I had to ask their courteous staff regarding the unexpected upgrade, but we were assured that it was not a mistake. The mere Php200 difference, in other words, was on the house.
Our Deluxe Room had a double bed and 2 single beds, a closet, a working WiFi and hot and cold shower. It was well-kept, clean and spacious enough to fit a family or barkarda of 5.But what made me really smile was the personal refrigerator and the closet. These two in particular can already be perceived as 'luxuries' especially for a budget hotel in these parts.A plated breakfast is complimentary and may be enjoyed within the confines of your room or at the lobby cafe. For other dining options, there's Yakski Barbeque located just across the hotel. The Escario branch of Zubuchon is also one brief jeepney ride away. And if you missed 7-Eleven's generic siopaos, you'll probably be glad to know that a branch is located nearby.Cebu R Hotel is located along Don Mariano Cui, a quieter street at the Capitol area. It is semi-secluded (but only 2 blocks away) from the busier thoroughfares in the metro. So while the hotel is in a relatively peaceful neighborhood, basic conveniences is well within reach.This, including the Cebu R Hotel's surprising amenities, makes it my preferred budget place in Cebu. ----------Cebu R HotelRoom rates start at Php 950.
